Artist Tip No. 4. DO NOT ANTAGONIZE OR BE AGGRESSIVE WITH GALLERIES.

The last thing you want to do is initiate your contact with a gallery in a hostile manner.  If you’re having trouble with their submission process or something else, do not email them with an aggressive tone, especially if they’ve been polite and understanding so far. 

It not only sours the experience for the gallery, but it sours their perception of your piece and you.  They will not want to deal with you at all.

This is not to say you should let them bully you, there is a difference.  Just don’t be rude right off the bat.
